Artist's CommentsDrew this on June 3rd for my art class. We needed 8 hours of sketch time, and I needed a few more. So here's something I sketched up in.... about 10 minutes? I haven't drawn reptilian creatures in a long while, so I thought it would be fun. Chose to do the behind view since I needed the practice. Since this one is fairly new, critiques are welcomed. I really like the back view. It's good to work on positions that you're not good at, but the way you drew this makes it seem like you're really good at this pose. The only thing that I think looks off is the positioning of the back legs. The left leg looks as though it's angled too far left. I think that if you brought the foot in a little, it'd look a little more correct. But it may just be me.
You could always put one foot in front of the other, as if it's about to step, but then looks back?

I can't crit this very well, as I haven't drawn behind-angles before, so I'm not too sure what it should look like...
Although I do agree with ~salaii about the hind left leg.

Bet you couldn't click this [link] even if you tried. ♥

And thank you so much, Nyliir! With you being a reptile artist, I'm glad you were able to comment (none the less give me a small critique) on this picture. I'll be sure to keep working at it.
Yeah, it does look somewhat crooked - like he's going to do the splits if he goes further. Thanks for pointing that out!
When drawing this, I was thinking more along the lines of it eating and then suddenly turning its head because it heard something.
a great back view shanree X3
